Welcome to another ‘Real Life’ Wedding!
Today Haylee & Sam are our superstars ! I really enjoyed heading up to Yepoon to photograph their special day.
I’ve been photographing weddings now for almost 15 years and 600 weddings later I still love being a part of the wedding day and capturing these timeless images.
Haylee & Sam have shared their story with us
—————–
Wedding Day Theme: Vintage / Roses
Tell us how you met
Samuel and I first met when we reached high school, officially dating in grade 11 when we were 16. During grade 9 through to 12, I worked at the tutoring centre as an assistant tutor where Sam was enrolled.
Sam seems to think that he caught me staring at him one day in the tutoring centre which confirmed “for him” that I “liked” him.
After months of flirting on the bus ride to school, and non stop staring “apparently” in the tutoring centre, he finally got the courage to ask me out.
The proposal
The proposal was a complete surprise. Samuel and I, along with my family, went on a three week trip to America where he proposed. We had a quick stop in at San Simeon and enjoyed a lovely dinner then we went back to the room.
Sam stoked the fire in our room and got down on one knee (with no approval from my father). Sam’s excuse ” I knew Nev wouldn’t mind”.

Every part of our wedding was a special and memorable moment.
Special thanks to
The wonderful ladies at Hair Culture by Raylene for being more than hair and makeup artists. These lovely ladies were there from the early hours of the morning up until the point that we left for the ceremony.
My “awesome” cousin Ryan for making the long journey back from Europe which was a total surprise and the rest of my family and friends for being their to make the day the special day that it was.
What did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography
The variety and quality of photos that Ben took was amazing.
He captures such natural and fun photos without even trying. I can not sum up in words how glad I am about choosing Ben as our photographer.
Advice for other brides-to-be
Take in every moment.
The day is gone before you know it!
Take a step back and actually look at everything and everyone.
Make sure you have a fantastic photographer like Ben Clark.
When the day is over, all you have left is photos to bring back all your memories.
