Jack & Jemma share their wedding story with us..

So Jack & Jem tell us how you met ?

We both went to the same gym and after what can only be described as subtle smiles and nods I took it upon myself to message her, that’s right, via Facebook.
It read “why do you still go to the gym, you’re done” and with that said and done we ended up going on our first “date” to McDonalds because I wanted a milkshake.

The rest, they say, is history!

The proposal
Jem was living here in Australia, I was still in the UK.
I’d come over in the February for a month just to see how she was getting on and in that month I’d decided she was the one I wanted to marry.
So I flew home and got to planning, firstly asking her dad, via Skype if I was allowed to ask her. I never actually got a yes but that’s by the by!
I’d asked Alun (Jem’s Dad) if he could organise an early morning breakfast down at Mooloolaba beach with his family, he was keen.
Prior to the breakfast he’d driven to Brisbane airport to pick me up at 6am and drop me at the beach first.
He then headed home and picked them all up and had persuaded them to go for a short walk along the beach.
He somehow managed to separate Jem and himself away from the others so that I could run along the beach, put my arm around Jem and ask her what she was doing there.
After a few seconds of shock from her I bent down on one knee and popped the question.
She said yes, of course. She’d been in a bad mood with me as I hadn’t been texting back…. That’s what being on a plane does! I’d lied and said I was out on the town and my phone was being fixed……
