Intercontinental Hotel, Sanctuary Cove Wedding

Welcome to another Real Life Wedding !

I wish I could blog every wedding that we shoot as they’ve all been amazing but it’s just impossible with the time required on each post, so I’m restricted to one wedding per week !

Today the spotlight is on Stevie & Jeremy’s beautiful Sanctuary Cove Wedding !

Wedding Theme

I suppose it was Old-School Elegance with lots of roses, antique gold’s and elegant gowns and suits.

Tell us how you met

Jeremy and I meet on the 1st of December 2009.  We both lived in the same street 10 houses apart.  Jeremy had spotted me 18 months before we meet but didn’t know how to formally meet me.

His mum even went to the trouble of organising a street party but my family never got the invitation.  18 months later, my Mum and I were walking our 2 sausage dogs late one evening admiring all the Christmas lights in the street.

We stopped at Jeremy’s house as they had a sensational display all over the house, the garden, the fence and the front yard.  My Mum and I meet Rosie and Mark, Jeremy’s parents, we were chatting away when Mark disappeared only to return with Jeremy where we had our first introduction.

A few nights later, Mum and I set out again to look at the lights, Mark and Rosie drove past us and called Jeremy to let him know we were walking towards the house again.  By the time we walked past Jeremy was at the end of the drive way sweeping in the dark!  We struck up conversation again and a first date followed!

The proposal

Jeremy and I are both family orientated.  We were celebrating Christmas at his parents house with both of our families.

Jeremy’s dad, Mark, suggested a family photo by the pool so everyone headed out.

I sat down taking my place for the photo, once everyone was seated and ready for the photo Jeremy pulled me up and said I had to move, before I knew it he had spun around was down on one knee with an open ring box saying “Stevie, will you marry me?”.

After some shocked tears and lots of uncontrollable giggles, someone thankfully reminded me to give an answer.  I said yes and gave him a big kiss!  Jeremy was quite the gentlemen, taking my parents out for dinner prior to the proposal asking for there permission.

Transport

Jeremy and his 6 groomsman arrived via helicopter.  It was his gift to his mates and they had no idea.

They teased Jeremy saying “Where’s the pink hummer Jez?” A few minutes later, the chopper flew over the trees and Jeremy said “There’s your pink hummer!”

There jaws hit the ground.  The boys said the flight was breathtaking.  It was all thanks to Jeremy’s mate, Steve who flew them.Sanctuary Cove Wedding (1)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (2)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (3)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (4)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (5)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (6)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (7)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (8)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (9)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (10)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (11)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (12)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (13)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (14)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (15)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (16)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (17)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (18)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (19)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (20)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (21)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (22)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (23)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (24)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (25)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (27)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (28)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (29)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (30)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (31)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (32)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (33)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (34)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (35)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (36)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (38)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (39)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (40)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (41)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (42)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (43)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (44)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (45)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (46)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (47)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (48)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (49)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (50)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (51)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (52)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (53)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (54)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (55)Sanctuary Cove Wedding (56)

Honeymoon

5 days at the beautiful Whitsunday Islands staying on the Merten Family yacht, sipping cocktails and champagne and enjoying the sunshine, bliss!

Favourite Wedding Day moment

We both loved every aspect of our wedding from the champagne breakfast for the girls to the 18 holes of golf for the boys.

Getting ready with my Mum and my dear friends (and Bridesmaids) Lucy and Eva.  Walking down the Isle with my Pappa, marrying my now fabulous husband, celebrating the occasion with our closest family and friends.

Watching the Haka from my family! I can’t pic a moment, it was a magical and special day!

Special thanks to

My Mum and Dad for giving me the Wedding of my dreams! Mark and Rosie for welcoming me into their family.  My brother Tony for being hilarious at the wedding!  Jeremy for asking me to be his wife x

What did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography

I fell in love with Ben Clark Photography after seeing his pics in a Bridal Magazine, I didn’t even look for any other photographers, he was the first and last enquiry.

We both felt extremely comfortable when we met with Ben and loved all of his work.  On the day, he was amazing, he was all over it!

He helped the boys with their ties and buttonholes, he successfully managed to tell a room full of girls running around not knowing what to do first, exactly what needed to be done and when!

Despite all this chaos, he captured every single special moment giving Jeremy and I beautiful pictures or our special day.

Advice for other brides-to-be ?

No matter how much planning goes into the Wedding something will go wrong.  I even had a Wedding Day Itinerary which was going perfectly, I was set to be at the Chapel on time!

Until my poor Mum’s zipper broke 10 minutes before we’re scheduled to leave, leaving me frantically sewing her into her dress while my gorgeous bridesmaids hunted down  more cotton!

Thankfully, our transport went to the wrong room anyway making me 20 minutes late!  All the planning in the world could not have helped that situation, at the time my heart was pounding but now I think it was hilarious.

My advice for future brides would be to relax, enjoy the day and enjoy what it throws at you because it will be something!
