Welcome to another Real Life Wedding !
Today the spotlight is on Lisa & Paul’s beautiful Brisbane Wedding !
Theme: Scottish Fun!
Tell us how you met
Our families have know each other for years! My mum and Paul’s dad lived in the same street in Glasgow, Scotland and were in the same class at school. Both families immigrated to Australia and over the years have stayed in touch.
Paul and I’s parents have always been close and saw each other regularly, but as we got older Paul and I didn’t see each other for years.
In 2005 it turned out we were both traveling Europe at the same time and my parents suggested I catch up with him and his friends for a drink in a pub in Glasgow.
That was in 2005. After six years of fun, memories and country hopping, our friendship turned into a relationship and 2 years after that we are married!
The proposal
We were heading up to Noosa and stopped at Montville for lunch. We were enjoying the views when Paul turned me around and got down on one knee.
Cue the ugly cry!

Honeymoon
As we both teach, there wasn’t the option to head off on honeymoon straight away.
We have an upcoming ‘mini moon’ at Shangri-La Sydney to celebrate another friends wedding these school holidays, and then Europe on our Christmas holidays.
 Funniest Moment
There were so many laughs on the day, but probably the best man’s speech. He cried his eyes out. It was beautiful but so funny at the same time.
Favourite Wedding Day moment
All of it, without a doubt. There is nothing we would change.
In your experience what did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography ?
Ben was amazing. He made a great effort with all of our family members and guests, putting them at ease straight away.
Ben was considerate of our priest in the ceremony and communicated so well with everyone involved in the wedding, which ensured everyone was on the same page.
The best and most important thing was that Ben was also a good laugh, flexible on the day, and always maintained a professional approach.
You cant help but trust him and know that he is giving 100% to give you the best.
Advice for other brides-to-be
Make sure everything is done, including the little things, at least two days before the big day. I loved being able to truly relax and soak up the time with family and friends prior to the wedding day.
On the day just keep reminding yourself how lucky you are to be marrying the person you love, deep breaths, and enjoy!
