Hanna & Matt’s beautiful Brisbane Wedding – Lightspace

How our lovebirds met

We met at East Restaurant and Bar. Matt asked me if he could buy me a drink and we hit it off instantly.

The proposal

We had been together for 9 months. All of our friends were guessing that Matt would propose on our Family Holiday to Fiji which we were due to depart on Wednesday morning. Matt had been rather sick for 3 days but desperately wanted to go out to child-free dinner on Saturday night before we left. He didn’t get out of bed all day but somehow convinced me that he was feeling good enough to go out. When we were leaving he ran back upstairs to get his ‘wallet’ which he had accidentally forgotten to grab – he never forgets his wallet, but I passed it off as he was just not feeling very well. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going which was nothing new for him, so I didn’t think anything of it. We went to dinner at Summit Restaurant at Mt Cootha. We had a delicious dinner and went for a walk out to see the view. It was freezing and not very nice so we walked back down towards our car. Matt always opens my door for me so I didn’t think anything of it until I saw him get down on one knee and ask me to make him the happiest man alive. Instant tears! The costume jewellery ring I had on got thrown somewhere in the car. When I called my parents to tell them (about 10pm), I woke them up. My Dad asked me if I was calling him to tell him that we had won some money? He was very happy to hear our good news and so was my mum. Matt’s parents in New Zealand were also extremely happy for us.

To Ben and Lisa Clark and Mark from Sipka Media for capturing it all and most importantly our amazing parents who consistently support our decisions in everything that we do.

In your experience what did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography ?

His experience in the industry, his ability to adapt to our personality and style without even trying and his confidence in making all of our photos more than we could imagine.

Advice for other brides-to-be:

Enjoy the journey of planning your wedding, look beyond the normal wedding suppliers and just chill out on the day and enjoy every moment. It is all over in a blink of an eye, all you will have left at the end of it all is your photos.

Thank you so much to Ben and Lisa for keeping us calm, laughing with us (and at us) throughout the day and capturing our Wedding Day.
