Cedar Creek Estate Tamborine Mountain – Matilda & Evan

Welcome to our Real Life Weddings page !

This is where the spotlight shines on the amazing weddings that we photograph !

Today the spotlight is on Matilda & Evan’s beautiful Tamborine Mountain Wedding !

Wedding Theme: Simple, understated fun.

The proposal

I had just finished my first week of work ever as a teacher, and was happily on my way to collapsing on the lounge when I got home on Friday evening. All I desperately wanted to do was eat a frozen pie for dinner and watch shockingly terrible television for the remainder of the night. For some reason, Evan had been shopping and bought ingredients to make fancy food, which was very bizarre and completely out of character. I explained that although it was a nice thought that he was offering to cook, I was nearing starvation and could I please, please just have a pie? A heated argument ensued, and I just could not wrap my head around why on Earth he was being so persistent. Eventually I realised we had wasted half an hour of eating time, so begrudgingly I agreed to go out for dinner instead. When we got home, as I finally made my way towards the couch, I was ordered to sit at the table and wait. What?! Seriously.

Oh man was I angry…until he got down on one knee.

Funniest Moment:

Grandpa’s speech and his naughty jokes. And the impromptu high 5 during the ceremony.

Favourite Wedding Day moment: Waking up at dawn and watching the sun rise over the stunning view with overwhelming excitement! And right after the ceremony, when all the guests made their way to the reception, and it was just the bridal party, drinks and canapes. It was so quiet and calm and gave us all a moment to let it sink in and think did that really just happen?

Then we took off for the photo shoot and laughed so hard for an hour straight with our best friends. So fun!

In your experience what did you value most about using Ben as your photographer ?

The complete control that Ben exercised over the entire affair, without being the slightest bit pushy. We could tell he and Lisa were capturing all the candid, sentimental shots that we so wanted.

They are true professionals and exceptional at their craft. We are so grateful for the whole experience!

Special Thanks To

My 3 gorgeous bridesmaids. They were the ones who made it all work 🙂

Advice for other brides-to-be

Make many, many lists. Then, on your wedding day, throw them all away. Just let it happen and don’t let a second pass you by without you being in the moment. And just be nice, to everyone. It makes for a very pleasurable experience!
