Tell us how you met
We have known each other since 2005, and were always very good friends as we grew up living 5 minutes away from each other. In 2012, Tom embarked on a 4 month solo adventure in the USA and he was 2 weeks into the trip, when invited me to join him .. a month after that invitation, I arrived in Nashville, Tennessee and we spent 4 weeks traveling the South and East coasts. We have been together ever since that day.
The proposal
We were engaged on the 7th June 2015.
Tom told me during the week, that we were going on a drive that weekend to see some friends at Somerset Dam. A few days later he said that he had a surprise. The weekend rolled around, and the morning of the drive, Tom said that the surprise was a picnic. I no idea what what was about to happen. I was oblivious also to the fact that Tom decided to wear his brand new Country Road button down shirt, instead of his usual sporting kit. I was still oblivious even when we didn’t meet our friends, and Tom scouted around for 10 minutes finding a perfect picnic spot to set up while I told to stay in the car. Once he came to get me from the car, I was led to a beautiful spot and Tom proposed. Was the biggest, and happiest surprise!

Funniest Moment
My brother, David, accidentally stood in old gum as we were entering the Cathedral. We didn’t realise until his shoe kept getting stuck on my dress as soon as we started walking down the aisle! There was no damage to the dress, and we managed to keep composed and had have a bit of a laugh!
Favourite Wedding Day moment
We both have the same moment!
Tom – Kathryn walking down the aisle and reaching for my hand
Kat – Seeing Tom at the end of the aisle and taking his hand
Special thanks to: Everyone, for making our day so special.
What did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography?
We were lucky to have met Ben previously as he was the photographer at Dan & Lib’s wedding (Toms older brother). He was great then, and just as amazing now so it was a no-brainer to book him.
Ben is lovely, funny and an awesome person to have around on your wedding day.
Advice for other brides-to-be
I have 2!
1) Have a timeline for the morning of the wedding just so everyone knows who is coming when (photographer, makeup, hair etc) and when everyone should be doing things (EG girls getting dressed, breakfast/lunch to go out). My stress level rose a few times during the morning!
2) Everyone says it, but, the day truly goes so fast. I regret being a bit stressed (again!) about my wedding speech and spending moments thinking about that, rather than what was going on around me.
