Emporium Fortitude Valley – Tanya & Brendon

Welcome to another Real Life Wedding !

Wedding season has been crazy this year and next year is looking to be just as busy, if you’re getting married anytime in the next two years please contact us as soon as possible as dates are disappearing fast !

I wish I could blog every wedding that we shoot as they’ve all been amazing but it’s just impossible with the time required on each post, so I’m restricted to one wedding per week !

Today the spotlight is on Tanya & Brendon’s beautiful Brisbane Wedding !

I’m a sucker for emotion and these guys had loads of it !

Tanya and Brendon’s real wedding details below

Theme

Someone told me it seemed to be styled very classic French (unintentionally) – with crisp classic blacks and whites and bright green flowers

Tell us how you guys met

We started chatting at the gym and soon realised we worked in the same company but in different buildings!

The proposal

Brendon took me to the beautiful rainforest getaway he first took me a few years earlier for my first birthday together after we started dating.

He had surprised me by organising with my boss for us to have a long weekend, and when I was relaxing on the balcony swing one afternoon he snuck up behind me and got down on one knee. It was romantic and private and perfect!

The Details

I loved my dress but I was probably more excited about my ridiculously awesome wedding shoes by Sophia Webster- they were completely un-weddingy but were so perfectly me!

Wedding Coordinator: We did not use a wedding coordinator and instead relied heavily on our amazing friends!

Decorator: Our friends are very multi-talented  – Hair: Theo Dimitri- he has been my hairdresser for years so that was an easy decision

Bridal party attire: the girls looked amazing in classic black fitted ball gowns and the boys looked incredible in black suits with bow ties and suspenders!

Make-up: Alyssa at The Powder Room – Flowers: Daisy’s in Toowong – Stationery: the Invitation house at Emporium

Entertainment

We had the incredible Chris Palmer performing for the first couple of hours which really set the mood and then later everyone danced the night away to a DJ

Honeymoon

we just got home today from a perfect 10 days in French Polynesia! Bora Bora and Moorea- beyond perfect!!

Funniest Moment

when we were saying our vows and my best friends18 month old little girl who was our flower girl Georgina started yelling ‘Mummy, daddy! Mummy, daddy! Oh no!!’ It was rather loud and hilarious

Favourite Wedding Day moment

For both of us it was the moment we saw each other for the first time in the chapel before I walked down the aisle. It was also great just watching the people we love celebrating and having a great night.

Special thanks to

Catie,Rachela,Naomi,Sandra and Emma. From the day we first announced our engagement these girls were there to help us with everything- from styling ideas and fashion advice (and minor eyelash related breakdowns) to the organisation on the day and the MCing on the night. They were just incredible.

What did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography ?

Ben’s laid back attitude made everyone really comfortable on the day. He also seemed to understand the kind of photos we were wanting.

Advice for other brides-to-be

Don’t prolong the engagement- it’s such a stressful process and we found that our 10month engagement was more than enough to get everything planned.

Also trust your gut if something doesn’t feel right then it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks -(from long puffy veils and princess dresses to overly fluttery eyelashes..) if it doesn’t feel right then don’t don’t do it!!!
