Kris & Jord Elements Collective, Fortitude Valley 03.04.2021
5 days before the wedding Greater Brisbane went into a 3 day snap lockdown with potential to be extended after community transmitted COVID cases had broken out. The rest of the week was filled with highs and lows. On Wednesday 3 days before the wedding, we received news that the entire bucks party group (every male on the guest list) had to get a COVID test. Thursday morning we received fantastic news that the lockdown would be lifted at midday and the wedding would be able to go ahead. By Thursday night we received negative test results accompanied by the news that we were allowed to dance at our reception and the wedding was on.
Our perfect day could go ahead…
Tell us how you met
we were both asked to take part in a photo for the courier mail, advertising tEacher wages whilst at university. We both thought we were getting shots individually but when we arrived we noticed each other straight away. We were too nervous to ask each other’s names but as fate turned out we were paired in the same tutorial class a few days later.
The proposal
We travelled from Bamaga (Cape York) to Paris. The morning of the proposal I carefully placed and locked the ring in my suitcase for safe keeping. In all the excitement, I locked the key for the padlock inside the suitcase as well. After walking for an hour in the rain to the Eiffel Tower, we decided to jump in a cab for the rest of the way which was roughly 500m. With the help of India Jord’s sister we found the perfect spot in front of the Eiffel Tower and I bent down to one knee and asked Jord to spend the rest of her life with me. In between the tears, she said yes!

Advice for other COUPLES
Don’t sweat the small stuff. At the end of the day you’re marrying the person you love and the little things become irrelevant in that moment
