Sirromet Winery – Teresa & Rob 12th April

Welcome to our Real Life Weddings page !

This is where the spotlight shines on the amazing weddings that we photograph

Today the spotlight is on Teresa & Rob’s beautiful Sirromet Wedding !

Theme:  Tradition mixed with Modern Fun

Tell us how you met:

At work. We both started working for the same company about four and a half years ago.

We were even applying for the same job! Within the same year the company moved us both from Brisbane to Singapore where our relationship grew from friendship to a partnership.

The proposal

We were packing our bags to fly home just before Christmas 2011.  I was in our bedroom getting ready and Rob had closed our bedroom door. When I opened it there were rose petals and tealight candles set up down the hallway leading out to our living room. Rob was standing at the end of the walkway where he got down on one knee and proposed. It was such a nice surprise that it happened when it did as we were able to celebrate our engagement with family & friends back home over Christmas.

The Details

Ceremony location: Albert Street Uniting Church, Brisbane.

Rob’s parents were married there 41 years ago and his grandparents were married there over 70 years ago. It was so special to be the third generation of his family to be married in such a beautiful church with so much history.

Reception: Sirromet Winery, Mt Cotton.  The beautiful setting was the first reason why we chose Sirromet but the service and food was just sensational. They made everything so easy for us.

Gown: Custom made in Singapore – Wedding bands and engagement rings: Engagement ring from Adamas, set by Solid Gold. Wedding band from Tiffany’s & Co.

Church: Albert St Uniting Church – Reverend Dan Skippen – Wedding Coordinator:  Sharyn Stein, Sirromet Winery.

Decorator: Julie Vine – Hair: Personal hairdressers, Pam & Sarah – Hair Piece by Karen Willis Holmes, Earrings from Swarovski

Funniest Moment

Our hilarious photo shoot at Sirromet. There was one moment when a massive gust of wind and rain came from nowhere!

We ducked for shelter in Ben’s 4WD and the step was so high that Rob had to pick me up and and throw me in there while Ben was still trying to capture pics even though his umbrella was flipped inside out from the wind!  The moment was topped off by Ben doing fishtails on the dirt track out the back of Sirromet. 🙂

Favourite Wedding Day moment

Every moment was just perfect.  But my personal favourite was seeing Rob at the top of the aisle.

Also the drive from the church to Sirromet, it was nice to have some alone time with each other between the ceremony and reception.

Special thanks to

All of our family and friends that were so happy for us making the day extra special.  Also all of our fabulous wedding suppliers that made our wedding day such a breeze.

In your experience what did you value most about using Ben Clark Photography?

Everything!!  Ben is just such a cool guy to work with and so many of our guests told us the same.

His professionalism as well as making sure we were on time (but without feeling rushed) and calm nature made you feel confident that all those special moments would be captured forever.

Advice for other brides-to-be

Enjoy every moment as it all flies by so quickly.

The best investment for a wedding is a professional photographer and videographer as you will want to re-live every moment of what is truly a magical day.
